Software Needs for Collection Management

L. Joseph Folse and Paisley S. Cato (1985), 'Software Needs for Collection Management', Curator 28(2), pp.97-104.

This is a good document of the computerization in museums in the 80's. And it shows that the mid-80's is a transitional period to install microcomputers instead of mainframe computers.

I think, depending on the shift of the hardware to manage data collection, in some ways, their (curators and other museum staffs) imagination to sort out their collection must have changed. However, the problem is that i myself doesn't know how computers as hardware and those of a sort of philosophy have gone hand in hand. So, i want to know the techonological aspects of the development of computers.
